Brendan Kirby |
Position:
Writer/Producer/Host |
As
WICKED LATE's host and third most popular
cast member, Brendan Kirby loves what he
does. Born in the nestled city of Butte,
Montana he knew from an early age that
he wanted to someday regularly make people
laugh; a goal he truly hopes to soon attain.
In addition to his collections of porcelin
Indonesian Dolls and
El Debarge bootleg CDs, Brendan views launching
WICKED LATE as his proudest accomplishment.
As Writer/Executive Producer/Host, overseeing
every aspect of the show is a true testament
to the fact that he has no life and very
little social interaction outside of that
he enjoys with his 13 gerbils. Spending most
days in a dimly lit crawlspace, he does find
the occasional minute to step out in order
to read passages from his favorite book: Confessions
of an Heiress. Brendan feels his ability
as a performer and writer have grown considerably
since the show was launched 5 years ago.
Gone and long since forgotten are the awkward
silences and frequent on-air bathroom breaks.
As he says: 'I have come to realize that
a true performer will just go in his pants.
I figured if it works for Larry King then
it would work for me.' In his spare time,
he enjoys testing out mattresses, shredding
hatemail, working on his BMW Isetta kit car,
and sending sensual emails to the makers
of Guitar Hero and Rock Band hoping to have
Hall & Oates included in the next editions
of their games. He welcomes feedback and
encourages viewers to comment on each aspect
of the show (Off limit subjects include:
the material, production value, musical choices,
and guest quality).

Eric DeSousa |
Position: Director |
Eric DeSousa joined the production crew of WICKED LATE in June of 2009 after five years at the helm directing the classic soap opera, 'The Young & the Restless.' The fact that he comes from one show which is known to induce tears to yet another has made for a truly seamless transition. Recently released from the intense grip of Somali Pirates, WICKED LATE's newest Eric is anxious to make his mark as a member of the team. More than just calling for the best shot, the Director must maintain order in the Control Room during tapings of the show. This is no small task seeing as though the room is also shared by a local ER specializing in emergency appendectomies; which usually take place during the aforementioned show tapings. We welcome him aboard and would like to take this opportunity to inform him that, contrary to the "offer" he accepted, there is no money involved and that compensation will consist solely of a signed 8x10 photo of former World Wrestling Entertainment referee, Earl Hebner. |

Eric S. Montaquila |
Position:
Drums/Production Assistant |
A mountain
of Herculean strength, Eric S. Montaquila
has delighted viewers as Brendan Kirby's
drumming sidekick since the 5th episode of
WICKED LATE. When asked why he joined the
lineup, Montaquila responded in his trademark
baritone: 'Did you see those first four shows?'
Though he provides timely rim shots to Kirby's
monologue jokes and desk one-liners, his
value to the show stretches far beyond. With
each passing taping, Montaquila's popularity
continues to reach unprecedented heights.
Kirby has gone so far as to announce that
an informal poll showed Eric as the show's
most popular cast member. This level of respect
has not gone to Montaquila's head and he
stands by his claim that he will only charge
$25 for his autograph (and will offer a half
price discount for ID-presenting family members).
A native of the Ozark mountains, Montaquila's
aforementioned superhuman strength
is often a topic of discussion on the air.
No stranger to the gym, Brendan hopes that
Eric will someday either bench press the
host desk or wreste an alligator during a
taping.

|
Ryan Cuddy |
Position:
Playback Operator |
When it is time
for a pre-taped comedy piece to be played back
during the show, one need not look any further
than to Playback Operator Ryan Cuddy. Poised
and positioned with one hand by the 'Play'
button and the other down his pants, Cuddy
makes sure that these bits play exactly when
they are supposed to. Truly an unsung hero,
he derives very little enjoyment out of this
job except for the placement of his non playback
hand. The annals of WICKED LATE history will
never forget the night when Brendan called
for a remote segment to be played and a devious,
plotting Cuddy instead rolled a clip from the
classic TV sitcom Family Matters.
|
|
 |
|
Haley Cuddy |
Position:
Audio |
Haley
Cuddy's ability to make the audience laugh
at almost everything Brendan says is truly
uncanny. Contrary to popular belief, there
is no year long ticket waiting list and thus
live studio audience for tapings of WICKED
LATE. These facts debunk the myth that said
audience members are threatened with bodily
harm if they do not laugh when they are supposed
to. Haley makes sure that each applause and
laugh track is played flawlewssly and at
the precise times to create the feel of a
true newtork late night TV broadcast. When
asked what it is like to make sure that just
about all of Kirby's lines are funny, Haley
responded: 'It makes me throw up in my mouth.'
Her soundboard precision has not gone unnoticed
by those within the field as her duties on
WICKED LATE have led to a second gig touring
the country as Head Audio Technician for
80s hitmaker William (Billy) Ocean.

 |
|
Kate Smith |
Position:
Cue Cards/Floor Director |
Despite
a vicious cue card-induced paper laceration
during the September, 2007 taping (one that
was not covered by the WICKED LATE health
plan), Kate Smith continues her duties as
card holder and floor director for each episode.
Brendan describes her as 'a true asset to
the team' and stands by his belief that the
ideal way for her to let him know it's time
to wrap up a segment is to flash him. When
asked for a response to this, Smith stabbed
her Brendan voodoo doll and gave the writer
of this piece the finger. |

 |
|
Kevin Kirby |
Position:
Camera/Production Assistant |
Much
like their Father, Kevin Kirby stands by
his claim that he demands a DNA test before
admitting to actually being related to Brendan.
Until this fateful day, he will continue
to deny any link to the show's host. However,
this dark cloud of suspicion has not stopped
him from seeking a few turns in the spotlight.
From filling in for Eric on the drums to
literally pulling a 2,500 pound automobile
for a pre-taped comedy bit to acting live
as 'the random dude', he has demonstrated
a true comedic ability and timing that has
not gone unnoticed by viewers of WICKED
LATE. Kevin is forever willing to do whatever
it takes to help produce the show as evidenced
by his behind the scenes duties in addition
to his on-camera displays. Whether he has
filled in on camera duty, shot footage for
pre-taped remote segments, acted as playback
operator, or served as floor director, his
intangibles continue to make him a valuable
member of the team. |
|
 |
|
Bill DeRita |
Position:
Production Assistant |
William
P. DeRita III is the very definition of a
comedic player. More than willing to lend
his entertainment talents to the show whenever
he is called upon, his performances on WICKED
LATE are nothing short of awe inspiring.
Whether portraying 'the guy who won't laugh
at anything' , filling in for Eric on drums,
or demonstrating his impressive vocal range
through operatic-syle solos, this young man
knows what it takes to thrill an audience.
Viewers should look foreward to more future
exploits from this budding comedic force. |
|
 |
|
Stefan Ellsworth |
Position:
Production Assistant |
More
than willing to play foil to whatever antics
Brendan has up his sleeve, Stefan Ellsworth
has assisted in a variety of ways with many
episodes of WICKED LATE. Whether portraying
a topless Rite Aid cashier, lending his car
to be driven through a Burger King Drive-Thru
backwards, or creating cardio awareness by
doing power-walking laps around the perimeter
of the studio during a taping, his thirst
for comedic fun cannot and will not be quenched.
Though his appearances have been less frequent
as of late due to his new gig as a male escort,
Ellsworth does his best to assist the show
whenever his hectic work schedule permits.

 |
|
Chris Lunghi |
Position:
Janitorial Assistant/Restroom Attendant |
A true
Restroom Attendant/Janitorial Assistant is
loyal, dedicated, and hardworking. Despite
possessing none of these qualities, WICKED
LATE loves having Chris Lunghi on board as
its resident maintenance man. In addition
to this solid gig, he is quite the comedic
player himself. His portral of the character
'Joe Literal' was an instant show classic
and the videotaped true accounts of his actual
life events featured in 'Chris Lunghi: It
Really Happened' were immediate crowd favorites.
And of course, who could forget the time
Brendan and Eric debated on the air whether
or not he was wearing an undershirt in the
infamous segment 'Is He Wearing an Undershirt?'
(Since readers of this site who may have
missed that episode are clearly dying to
know, he was wearing an undershirt: a ribbed
women's undergarment; an article of clothing
Brendan dubbed as being from the 'Victoria's
Should've Kept It a Secret Collection'.)
Chris' comedic talents, contributions to
the show, and ability to snake a toilet have
not flown under the radar; nor will they
ever do so as long as WICKED LATE is still
in production and going strong.

|
David Leisure |
Position:
Executive Consultant |
Best known as the annoying,
but lovable, neighbor, Charlie, on the classic
NBC sitcom Empty Nest, David Leisure
is a true television icon. The crew is truly
honored to have him associated with WICKED
LATE and wholeheartedly respects his wealth
of knowledge within the entertainment industry.
Brendan hopes to eventually honor the aforementioned
character by one day hosting an entire episode
of WICKED LATE wearing nothing but the hat
that accompanied Leisure's sailor suit costume
on episodes of Empty Nest. Ladies,
adjust your TIVO's accordingly! Ahoy David!
It's great to have you onboard!
